Neil Stokes has lived as a British expat in Catalonia since the nineties. Originally an English teacher, he moved into journalism in 2004 when Carles Puigdemont, who would later go on to become the 130th President of Catalonia, launched the English-language publication Catalonia Today. Since then, Neil has continued to work at the magazine but also contributes to other publications and news agencies as a freelance journalist. Married to a Catalan woman and with two grown-up children, Neil lives in a small picturesque village close to Barcelona.
